Samoyed
Summary
The Samoyed is a stunningly beautiful Arctic dog, bred by the Samoyede people of Siberia to pull sleds, herd reindeer, and hunt. Its white and dense coat protected it from extreme temperatures, and it slept curled up on its owners during cold nights. It is famous for the "Samoyed smile," resulting from the slightly upturned corners of the mouth — an adaptation that prevents ice from forming at the lip commissures.
