Summary
The Romanian Bucovina Shepherd is a giant flock guardian originating from the historic region of Bukovina in northeastern Romania, on the slopes of the Carpathians. Used for centuries to protect flocks from wolves, bears, and lynxes, this majestic and impressively strong dog is increasingly recognised outside Romania. It was definitively recognised by the FCI in 2019.
