Temperament & Personality

The Smooth-Faced Pyrenean Sheepdog is a dog of explosive energy, lively and notably distrustful of strangers — more so than the long-haired variety. It is extremely active, agile and resilient. It forms very intense bonds with its owner but can be difficult to handle for people without experience with herding breeds. Its reputation for independence and cunning is well deserved.
