Poodle
Summary
The Poodle — whose French name derives from "canard" (duck), as it was originally used as a water retriever — is recognized by the FCI in four size varieties: Standard (Grande), Medium, Miniature, and Toy. It is consistently ranked as one of the most intelligent breeds in the world and is today much more commonly used as a companion, show, and sport dog. Its curly coat and famous show clips have made it one of the most recognizable and iconic breeds in the world.

Temperament & Personality
The Poodle is an exceptionally intelligent, active, and very responsive dog to training, considered by many scientific studies as the second most intelligent breed in the world (after the Border Collie). It is affectionate, loyal, and cheerful, easily adapting to different lifestyles and living spaces. The smaller varieties tend to be more active and vocal; the Standard is normally calmer and more confident. It is considered one of the best breeds for families with allergies as it practically does not shed.
