Summary

The Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, affectionately called "Toller," is the smallest of the FCI-recognized retrievers and one of the most versatile. Developed in Nova Scotia, Canada, it uses a unique hunting technique called "tolling" — running and playing on the water's edge to lure curious ducks within the hunter's range, then retrieving them after the shot. Its extraordinary enthusiasm and energy make it a very lively sporting and family companion.
