Summary

Despite resembling a miniature Dobermann, the Miniature Pinscher is a much older breed with no direct relation to the Dobermann. Bred in Germany at least two centuries ago, it was originally used to hunt rats in stables. Today it is a popular companion worldwide, appreciated for its enormous personality enclosed in a small body.
