Summary
The Ca de Bestiar (in Catalan, "livestock dog") is the native breed of the Balearic Islands, especially Majorca, where it served for centuries as a guard and livestock dog. It is a solid and athletic breed, with a black coat and protective character, combining the functions of flock guardian with domestic guard dog. It exists in two coat varieties — short (much more common) and long (extremely rare).

Temperament & Personality

With the family it is affectionate and calm, although it always retains its characteristic seriousness.
