Slovakian Chuvach
Summary
The Slovenský Čuvač (pronounced approximately "chuvach") is an imposing livestock guardian dog from the Carpathian and Tatra mountains in Slovakia, where it has been used for centuries to protect sheep from wolves, bears and other predators. According to tradition, it is bred exclusively in white to be distinguished from predators at night — a characteristic it shares with other alpine livestock guardians such as the Kuvasz and the Maremma.
