Summary
The Hellenic Hound is the only Greek dog breed recognized by the FCI, with a history dating back to Ancient Greece — there are representations of similar dogs on Greek vases dating back 4,000 years. It is a medium-sized scent hound, very resistant to hot climates and rocky Mediterranean terrain, used primarily for hare hunting on the Greek islands and mainland.

Temperament & Personality
