Summary
The Continental Bulldog is one of the newest breeds in the world, created in Switzerland from 2001 with the explicit goal of developing a Bulldog with the appearance and charisma of the English Bulldog but without the serious health problems associated with its extreme conformation. The result was a more agile dog with a functional muzzle and normal breathing capacity.

Temperament & Personality
The Continental Bulldog inherited the best of the English Bulldog's character: it is affectionate, calm, loyal, and good with children. But it has more energy and greater athletic ability than its British ancestor, being able to accompany its owners on longer walks without breathing difficulty. It is balanced, not very vocal, and very adaptable.
