Chinese Crested Dog
Summary
The Chinese Crested Dog is a unique breed that exists in two genotypically related varieties: the "Hairless" (no hair on the body, with hair only on the head, paws, and tail) and the "Powderpuff" (completely covered by a soft, silky double coat). Both varieties can be born in the same litter, since the gene that determines hairlessness is dominant but lethal in homozygosity — therefore, all "Hairless" dogs are heterozygous. It is an extraordinarily affectionate and sensitive dog.

Temperament & Personality
The Chinese Crested Dog is an extremely devoted, affectionate, and sensitive companion. It forms very intense bonds with its owners and can develop separation anxiety if frequently left alone. It is playful and active, but also appreciates quiet moments on the lap. The "Hairless" variety is physically warm to the touch, functioning as a natural heater for its owners.
