Summary
The Thai Bangkaew Dog is a native Thai breed, originating from the village of Bangkaew in the Phitsanulok region of north-central Thailand. It is said to descend from crossbreeding between local domestic dogs and an Asian jackal (Canis aureus) — although this theory remains genetically unproven. It is a companion and guard dog, recognized by the FCI with a definitive standard in 2022.
