The Serbian Hound (Srpski Gonič), formerly known as the Balkan Scenthound, is a robust working breed from the Balkans with a history spanning several centuries of hunting in the Serbian forests. Recognized by the FCI as an independent breed in 1996 (formerly called Balkan Scenthound), it is a versatile hunting dog used for hare, fox, and deer.
