Summary
The Cão de Fila de São Miguel, also known as the "Azorean Fila", is the only breed originating from the Azores. Developed on the island of São Miguel over centuries by Portuguese settlers, it was used to drive and restrain wild cattle — a task that required exceptional courage, strength, and agility. It is an active, muscular, and intelligent working breed, still used today on farms in the Azores.
