The Posavatz Hound (Posavski Gonič) is a Croatian scent hound originating from the Sava river valley (Posavina) in Croatia, where it was developed for hare and fox hunting over centuries. It was recognized by the FCI in 1955. It is a docile dog, very attached to its owner, considered one of the Balkan scent hounds with the most favorable temperament for family life.
