The Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen (PBGV) is the smallest of the Griffon Vendéen family, developed to hunt hare in the difficult and thorny terrain of the French Atlantic coast. Despite the name "petit," it is a dog with an immensely big personality — outgoing, noisy, and tireless. It has become one of the most popular bassets worldwide as a companion and show dog.
