Summary
The Blue Gascony Basset (Basset Bleu de Gascogne) is the short-legged version of the Grand Bleu de Gascogne, developed in Gascony to hunt hare in difficult terrain at a pace that hunters on foot could keep up with. Recognizable by its characteristic bluish coat — identical to that of its large ancestor —, it is a rare breed even in France.
