Summary
The German Hound (Deutsche Bracke) is the only regular-sized German scent hound recognized by the FCI, originating from Westphalia. It is a dog of exceptional scenting ability, used for individual hunting in Germany — where the hunting system differs from the French, preferring dogs that work solo instead of in packs. It is a skilled tracker, used both for live game and for tracking wounded animals.
