Fox Terrier (Wire)
Summary
The Wire Fox Terrier is the more popular sibling of the two Fox Terriers. Despite sharing the same hunting origin and general form, it was probably developed independently from rough-coated terriers of the British Midlands. Its "broken" (broken and hard) coat became its trademark, and for decades it was one of the most awarded show dogs in the world.

Temperament & Personality
The Wire Fox Terrier is often described as being "always on tiptoe, waiting for any provocation" — an accurate description. It is extremely energetic, intelligent, and with a very low boredom threshold, needing constant physical and mental stimulation. With the family it is very entertaining, loyal, and affectionate; with the outside world, it is a tireless explorer with a strong prey drive. One of the most successful terriers in world-level dog shows.
