English Toy Terrier (English Toy Terrier (Black &tan))
Summary
The English Toy Terrier (Black & Tan) is one of the oldest English terriers and the direct ancestor of numerous toy breeds, including the Yorkshire Terrier. Developed from the rat-hunting terriers of Victorian England — widely used in rat-pit betting, where dogs competed to catch the most rats in the shortest time — it was miniaturized over time to become a parlor dog. Today it is extremely rare and features on numerous vulnerable breed lists.
