Summary
The Canarian Warren Hound (Podenco Canario) is a medium-sized hunting breed, originating from the Canary Islands, where it is used primarily to hunt rabbits using a ferret and without firearms — a very ancient local hunting tradition. Its origin is of Egyptian type, probably introduced to the islands by Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians, and Egyptians approximately 7,000 years ago.
