Summary
The Wirehaired Slovakian Pointer is a relatively modern breed, created in Slovakia from crosses between the German Wire-Haired Pointer, the Weimaraner, and the Český Fousek. The goal was to create a versatile hunting dog adapted to the Slovak climate and terrain. The result is a medium to large dog with a unique rough grey coat and a well-covered tail. It was recognized by the FCI as a definitive breed. It is an energetic, loyal, and work-oriented breed.
