Summary
The Swedish Lapphund is considered one of the oldest native breeds of Sweden, descending from the dogs used by the Sami people to herd reindeer for centuries. Although it has a similar appearance to the Finnish Lapphund and the Finnish Lapponian Dog, it is a distinct breed, separately recognized by the FCI. Its black or bear-brown coat is one of its hallmarks.
