The Griffon Fauve de Bretagne is a rough-coated scent hound from Brittany, France, with a history dating back to the 14th century, when it was used for wolf hunting. It is one of the oldest dogs from Brittany, and its direct short-legged descendant — the Basset Fauve de Bretagne — has become significantly more popular as a companion dog. The Griffon (full size) is today a relatively rare breed.
