Great Gascony Blue
Summary
The Grand Bleu de Gascogne is one of the oldest and most majestic scent hound breeds from France, with origins dating back to the 14th century in the Gascony region. It was bred to hunt wolves and deer in packs, and is recognized by its characteristic bluish coat — the result of finely mottled black pigmentation on a white background. Considered one of the great patriarchs of French scent hound breeds, its genetic influence extends to numerous other breeds in the same category.

Temperament & Personality
The Grand Bleu de Gascogne is a noble, gentle, and well-balanced dog. However, its deep and melodious voice — considered one of the most beautiful among scent hounds — is frequently heard when the dog is excited or following a trail.
