Otterhound
Resumen
The Otterhound is an ancient British breed, developed specifically for otter hunting in rivers and lakes. With a waterproof double coat, interdigital webbing, and an exceptional ability to track scents in water, it is one of the most specialized dog breeds in the world. After the ban on otter hunting in England in 1978, the breed entered severe decline and is today considered one of the most endangered in the world, with fewer than 600 estimated specimens.
